OUR STORY
Founded in 2022, PANINA was born from a deep appreciation for both Italian flavours and Maltese culinary traditions. Inspired by a trip to Sicily and driven by a love for local ingredients and the Maltese way of eating, the first outlet opened in Fgura, offering freshly prepared sandwiches, salads, wraps, croissants, and coffee. The menu blends authentic Italian flavours with beloved Maltese staples - especially our fresh bread, which remains at the heart of everything we do.
PANINA quickly grew thanks to its dedication to quality, generous portions, and strong community roots, leading to new locations in St. Venera, Gżira, Naxxar and Żebbuġ.
Celebrated for both taste and value, PANINA has earned numerous accolades including Best Newcomer 2024 (Wolt Awards), Best Ftira Spot on the Island 2024 (MaltaDaily), a Lovin Malta Recommends Badge, Best Value for Money 2025 (Bolt Food Awards), and most recently, the Silver Award for Customer Service Excellence at the Malta Business Awards 2025.
